NY Stay in School
Drop in. Don't drop out.

Do

Talk to them about personal problems and schoolwork. Being a friend is about reaching out to someone when they need you. Talk to them about what is going on and be supportive. However, know when you are in over your head. Get help from someone at school, your parents, or a trusted adult when your friend needs more help than you can give. This is being a really good friend!

Don't

Don't go to their homes and try to force them to go to school. It is never good to force anyone into anything. You need to find out why your friend is not going to school. Don't let them deal with school on their own. Your friend may not know who to turn to or how to get help. You can be there for them. However, know when you are in over your head. Get help from someone at school, your parents, or a trusted adult when your friend needs more help than you can give. This is being a really good friend!
